Put This Guy in Marmoset
Time to see everything come together finally. Here are two options I am toying with at the moment as I work towards those final images. More to come over the next few days. :)

The Beast: Handpainted Version
While texturing I kind of went down the rabbit hole, and switched to a hand painted style. I initially intended for a more PBR result, but this was just too much fun. :)

Sculpt complete
The differences between this post and the last post are fairly small. But I am calling the sculpt done, and moving to UV and textures. I opted to not go for any micro details (pores, scars, etc), to keep it a little cleaner and stylized.

Close to finishing the Sculpt
I think I may be wrapping up the sculpt. I could probably noodle on this forever. So time to move I think.

The Beast: It's been awhile
So I've made slow progress on my entry. I definitely won't make the deadline, but that's ok. I've spent the last month working in Marvelous Designer, trying something new. The results are still a little lacking, and honestly I could have done in the fraction of the time working in my older workflow. But still I think investing time, to learn this program, will be worth it in the long run.
So here is my update. I've had a bit of a shift in direction. Instead of a blacksmith, he's become more of a silver smith. I'd like to pose him working on detailing a candlestick, a sort of nod towards the Disney film. I've been looking at a lot of Rockwell, Leyendecker and Moby Francke and did a pivot on my design. I think it will make more sense once he is posed, and everything is in less of a rough state. Still I'd like to put something out into the wilds, and see what people think for now. :)

Beast: Basic Clothing
I've blocked in some of the basic clothing my beast will wear. My intention is to figure out the basics of the outfit before going to MD. MD will be a new challenge, but I'm looking forward to it. :)
His outfit is made of leather. It is functional and ready for work at the forge.

Polycount Beast: More sketching/tweaking
Finally sat back down and started working on this again. The head is getting closer to where I want it, I based it off version 2 from the previous post. I also adjusted some things with the feet and hands. I really need to move on to the outfit, and see how he looks as a whole. So that'll be next. :)

Polycount Beast Challenge
Started blocking in my base for my Beast, from Beauty and the Beast. Here is the backstory:
The Beast was once a blacksmith. He was a master of his craft, and the town prospered because of his skill. But the forge he worked came with a cost. Over time he was slowly changed. He expressed his concerns to the towns people, that he was afraid of what he might become.
The Villagers were adamant. The Beast should continue his work. His wares brought much business and wealth to the town, and what a small price the Beast must pay to help his fellow man. The changes continued, and reached deep into the blacksmith. Soon he was no longer the man he once was, consumed by his forge.
The Village became rich, and grew, because of his work. But the villagers were scared of The Beast. He was ostracized by all, and yet his wares were demanded. And so we find our Beast, over his forge, creating the miraculous. But at what cost?
